Rustic Pallet Garden Planter

Create a charming rustic garden planter using reclaimed wooden pallets. This project provides an eco-friendly way to display flowers or herbs and adds a natural aesthetic to your garden or patio.

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Choose a pallet in good condition without broken slats.
2. If needed, trim the pallet to desired size using a saw.
3. Sand all surfaces thoroughly to avoid splinters, starting with medium grit and finishing with fine grit.
4. Optionally, paint or stain the pallet and allow it to dry completely.
5. Cut landscape fabric or plastic sheeting to fit the inside of the pallet box, ensuring it covers all sides and bottom.
6. Secure the fabric inside the pallet using a staple gun, making sure it is taut and well-covered to hold soil.
7. Fill the lined pallet with potting soil, leaving about an inch from the top.
8. Plant your chosen flowers, herbs, or vegetables, spacing them appropriately.
9. Water the plants thoroughly and place the planter in a location suitable for the plants’ sunlight needs.
10. Maintain by watering regularly and checking soil moisture.
