Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Sand all boards smoothly starting with 120 grit and finishing with 220 grit sandpaper.
2. Apply wood stain or paint to all pieces if desired; allow to dry completely.
3. Position the two 1x2 boards vertically as side supports.
4. Apply wood glue to the ends of the 1x8 board and attach it horizontally between the two side supports, flush with the top edges.
5. Secure the shelf to the side supports with wood screws (2 screws per side).
6. Flip the shelf assembly and screw through the side supports into the shelf bottom for added strength.
7. Mark the desired mounting location on the wall and install wall anchors.
8. Attach the shelf to the wall using appropriate screws through the side supports.
9. Check for level and secure tightly.
10. Place decor or items on your new rustic wall shelf.
