Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut the 3" PVC pipe into three sections: 18" for the body, 8" for the neck, and 4" for the head.
2. Use sandpaper to smooth the cut edges.
3. Shape the neck piece by slightly bending or cutting to create a gentle curve resembling a heron's neck.
4. Carve or cut the 4" head piece to shape a pointed beak at one end.
5. Attach the head to the neck securely using hot glue.
6. Attach the neck to the body section with hot glue, ensuring a stable joint.
7. Cut craft foam pieces to create wings and tail feathers; glue them onto the body.
8. Use paint to add realistic heron coloring: white and grey body, black accent on wings, orange beak.
9. Draw eyes with a black marker on the head.
10. If desired, create legs using thin wire or pipe cleaners and attach them to the bottom of the PVC body.
11. Let glue and paint dry completely before displaying your heron sculpture.
